Dedicated to All My Muslim-American Students

When a friend of mine told me about this website, I was pleased. But I have a problem. I'm a professor, and I have been privileged to work with and get to know many Muslim-Americans. So the problem is I can't choose one distinct person to talk about. So, I decided to dedicate my post to all of the Muslim-American students I have had and will have in the future.

I have been privileged to meet, know and work with each of you. I have seen your courage, your wisdom and your strength, and I have been honored and impressed. I have watched you tear down stereotypes that your fellow students have held, and you have done it with your courtesy and your kindness. I have been particularly saddened when you have told me about the discrimination that you have faced. Yet through it all each of you has remained hopeful for a bright future and a better world. Thank you for allowing me into your world and thank you for the many lessons you have taught me! . . .Too many to list here!
